My work moves between the emotional inner world of the subjects and the interplay of light, lines, and forms in the outside world. In my career in communications, I learned that I am particularly strong in one-on-one interactions. This is reflected in my portraits. My subjects adopt an uninhibited attitude, allowing the viewer to get close. My more abstract work also finds its starting point in my surroundings.Where people disappear, attention shifts to what remains: light, lines, and forms. By placing these two types of images side by side, new meanings and interpretations can emerge.

Around

In Around, I show the people in my surroundings who play an important role in my daily life. Ten years ago, I moved to Amsterdam. For a new love, for a new beginning. I got new neighbors, I started playing the saxophone in a small jazz band, and I started working out at the Silverfoxes. By photographing these people, a kaleidoscope of people around me emerged. My more abstract work also finds its starting point in my surroundings. Where the people disappear, the focus shifts to what remains: light, lines, and forms. By placing these two types of images side by side, new meanings and interpretations can emerge.
